Specialized Support

Online Grief Counseling in North Carolina & South Carolina

Grief does not follow a schedule, and it rarely looks the way people expect it to. You may be holding it together for everyone else while the loss sits quietly in your chest. Whether your loss happened last month or years ago, your grief deserves room and care. I offer virtual grief counseling for adults in North Carolina and South Carolina—faith-centered if that is what you want, and just as attentive if it is not.

    Grief Comes in Many Forms

Loss is not only about death. Grief can follow any ending that mattered to you.

    ✦

The death of a parent, partner, child, sibling, or close friend

    ✦

The end of a marriage or a long relationship

    ✦

A miscarriage or the loss of a hoped-for future

    ✦

A diagnosis that changed what your life was going to look like

    ✦

Losing a job, a role, or an identity you had built your life around

    ✦

Estrangement from family or a community you belonged to

    ✦

Grief that resurfaced long after everyone else moved on

    How Grief Counseling Can Help

    Teresa Capers, Licensed Therapist

Grief counseling is not about getting over your loss or moving on from someone you love. It is about finding a way to carry what happened that lets you keep living, remembering, and eventually reconnecting with what matters.

We make space for the parts of grief that are hard to say out loud—anger, relief, guilt, numbness, or questions about faith. None of it will be judged here. Alongside that, we work with practical tools for the days that come at you hard: sleep, appetite, memory triggers, anniversaries, and the moments grief shows up without warning.

Grief often overlaps with depression, anxiety, and the strain of a major life transition. If you are also exhausted from holding everything together, stress and burnout support can be part of our work.

Faith Integration Is Always Your Choice

Loss raises deep questions, and for some clients faith is central to answering them. If you want prayer, Scripture, or prayerful reflection included, we can do that. If you would rather not bring faith into our sessions, that is completely welcome and nothing about your care changes.
